    Choosing a decoder

The basic types of decoders used for terrestrial digital transmission are the Standard Definition and the High Definition.

If a viewer does not have a classic analogue television with a lamp or a flat television (LCD, Plasma) without a built-in MPEG4 digital receiver (decoder) and without an HDMI port, then a simple decoder with a SCART or RCA (3-colour: yellow, white, and red) port, is sufficient.

If respectively the viewer has a flat TV (LCD, Plasma) without a built-in MPEG4 digital receiver (decoder) but with an HDMI port, then a decoder with an HDMI port for maximum viewing quality is recommended.

Caution! There are many more types of decoders with or without satellite view or satellite and terrestrial view functionalities.
